This Yoga Alliance of Canada recognized 200 hr level yoga teacher training intensive is designed to give you the knowledge skills and transformative experience to take you deeper into your practice and become a yoga teacher.

Lead Instructor of the program Lucy St John is a yoga teacher from Vancouver BC. Her yoga path began in India and she has since studied with yoga Masters such as Bernie Clark, Janet Stone and Dharma Mittra. She has also branched into other modalities such as Ayurveda, Biotensegrity, Acroyoga, Reiki, and Transcendental Meditation.

Program Outline

The YPM Yoga Teacher Training program 200 hours must be completed in order to receive the Certificate of Completion. Through advanced learning methods, you will gain practical knowledge and useful experience in the following areas:

  • Practice and instruction of the Yoga Asanas
  • Practice and instruction of Pranayamas, kriyas, chanting, mantra, meditation and bandhas
  • Teaching Methodology
  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Yoga Philosophy, Lifestyle and Ethics
  • The Business of Yoga
  • Practicum

Tuition and Early Bird Discount

$2900 + gst if registered before January 1st 2018.

$3200 + gst after January 1st 2018.

Tuition includes:

  • Teacher Training
  • YPM 3 month unlimited class pass (June-August 2018)
  • Yoga and Spa day at Thermea
  • Opportunities to teach Karma classes at YPM


A deposit of $500+gst is due upon acceptance to reserve a spot in the program.

The balance owing of $2700 + gst or $2400 + gst (early bird rate) is due one week prior to the start of your session.

Monthly payments can be arranged prior to the start of the session (~$500/month February-July 2018).

Cancellation Policy

The $500 deposit is non-refundable. Any cancellations made once the program has started will be subject to a $100 + gst administration fee. The amount returned will be less the $100 + gst administration fee and pro-rated based on the number of hours attended. The  deposit must be paid to hold a space at the training, or it can be paid in full (*any early bird discounts only apply to full payments). The final payment must be provided no less than 30 days prior to the training or you risk forfeiture of your space. Any cancellation on the part of the attendee more than 60 days prior to the retreat/training will receive a refund minus 50% of the deposit fee, 50% will be retained for administrative costs. Cancellation less than 60 days and more than 30 days prior to the retreat will lose the full cost of the deposit. Cancellation 30 days or less to the retreat forfeit the entire cost of the training as everything at this point has been planned for. Exceptions may be given under extreme circumstances on an individual basis.

Q – When I complete this training will I be a certified Yoga Teacher?
A – Yes. You will earn a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training Certification as recognized by the Yoga Alliance of Canada.

Q – What type of yoga is your program based on?
A – This teacher training program is based upon the Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin Yoga style of practice.

Q – Can I attend the program if I don’t want to be a teacher, just looking to develop my practice?
A – Yes. Students who wish to deepen their understanding and knowledge of Yoga practice methods theory and history may attend the program. There is always a variety of people, backgrounds and motivations for participating. All are welcome!

Q – How much experience do I need to attend your program?
A – We recommend you have at least 1 year of experience with yoga. If you do not have this experience we will still consider you for the program. No matter how long you have been practicing or what level you are at, you will still benefit from attending the program. Your level of previous yoga experience will have more influence in determining what level of class you will be able to teach once you’ve completed the program.

Q – Do I need to be proficient in poses like headstand and other advanced poses to attend the program?
A – No. It is not essential to be proficient in advanced poses or any poses. Students come to this Teacher Training program at all levels of experience. Part of the aim of the program is to teach you the fundamentals of practice so you can work towards more advanced poses.

Q – Are books and materials required for the program?
A – A training workbook/manual is required for the program and will be received on the first day of the program. Other readings and books are optional. A hard copy of the manual is $150, an e copy is $100.
